Credit with grade. Artistic quality and value of submitted works forms the basis of marking as does attendance and tutorial participation, progress made, completion of course objectives, general attitude to the subject matter of the module.

subject description

- development and instilling of a creative attitude in students that is informed by the basic knowledge of modalities of completing a painting
- acquisition and furthering of knowledge and painting workshop skills, means of expression, and technological aspects of painting
- development of awareness of the interrelated character of arts and other aspects of modern life as well of an alertness to the relationship between theory and practice of creative endeavours
- development of ability to make informed, individual decisions and choices regarding one’s creative work, also in the course on an ongoing project; development of ability to individually and knowledgably formulate and identify ideas and solve issues in the area of painting
- development of ability to skilfully employ tools, techniques and technology of an artist’s workshop in the process of completing and implementing student’s own works and ideas
- development of ability to adopt a cooperative and integrative approach to group-projects and undertakings
- development of ability to employ imagination, creative intuition and emotions; development of a critical and self-critical approach
