Evaluation Criteria – Degree 3

- Student has mastered the material, has a general idea of ​​the history of design.

- Student has knowledge of the basic concepts of design history and can locate them in the historical, cultural and social context

- Student engages in the learning process.

- Student has minimum presence of 60%

Evaluation criteria- Degree 4

- Knowledge of student covers all material presented, but may have deficiencies in unimportant details.

- Student recognizes and explains the impact of cultural and social contexts in shaping design.

- Student is able to analyze the relationship (similarities and differences) between the periods.

-Student engages in the learning process, is active in the classroom

- Student has min minimum presence of 75%

Kurs prezentuje rozwój wzornictwa od XVIII wieku do teraźniejszości , ze zwróceniem szczególnej uwagi na towarzyszące mu przemiany kulturowe i ukazanie kompleksowości designu, którego zadania wykraczają daleko poza estetyzację produkcji przemysłowej. Historia wzornictwa jest nie tylko częścią historii sztuki, lecz historii cywilizacji. Wzornictwo ukazane zostanie w kontekście rozwoju nauki, zmian społecznych i politycznych w Polsce i na świecie. Architektura, projektowanie graficzne, wzornictwo przemysłowe, sztuka, film, telewizja, nowe technologie oddziaływały na siebie w nie zawsze przewidywalny sposób. Podczas kursu studenci poznają te relacje i ich wpływ na rozwój wzornictwa i jego rolę i miejsce w społeczeństwie i kulturze popularnej. Wykłady prezentują trendy, które ukształtowały współczesny design od rewolucji przemysłowej, aż po czasy współczesne.

The course presents the development of design from the eighteenth century to the present, with special attention to the accompanying cultural changes and show the complexity of the design, the tasks of which go far beyond aestheticisation of industrial production. The history of design is not only part of the history of art, but the history of civilization. Design will be shown in the context of the development of science, social and political changes in Poland and in the world. Architecture, graphic design, industrial design, art, film, television, new technologies interacted with each other in not always predictable manner. During the course, students learn about these relationships and their influence on the development of design and its role and place in society and popular culture. Lectures present the trends that have shaped the contemporary design of the industrial revolution to modern times.

The course presents the development of design from the eighteenth century to the present, with special attention to the accompanying cultural changes and show the complexity of the design, the tasks of which go far beyond aestheticisation of industrial production. The history of design is not only part of the history of art, but the history of civilization. Design will be shown in the context of the development of science, social and political changes in Poland and in the world. Architecture, graphic design, industrial design, art, film, television, new technologies interacted with each other in not always predictable manner. During the course, students learn about these relationships and their influence on the development of design and its role and place in society and popular culture.
