subject description |
The Fourth Studio of Drawing is open to various artistic attitudes of the students and their ideas concerning their own development. An opportunity to work with a model and confrontation of the experiences gained in previous years within the discipline understood in a classic way, connected with the obligation to exceed the boundaries of one's own skills, taking risks, and experimenting, constitute the foundation of the Studio's program. The Fourth Studio values the work process itself, the openness to one's mistakes, unsuccessful attempts, experience, without all of which, in my opinion, it is impossible to work out one's own handwriting in art. An impressive finishing exhibition is not equally important. During the semester the students will realize individually designated projects, expanding their field of attention and abilities and shaping their individual technique via earnest studies. |

short subject description |
Our offer for students of 3rd year, who finished the 2-year Elementary Education, comprises classes based on nature (model, anatomy, realistic drawing, various techniques and means of expression, working with monumental format as well as with miniature), and studio work based on arrangements of suggestive spacial configurations with a model, encouraging the students to individual drawing interpretations. Having gained some experience, the students of 4th year are encouraged to realize their own creative conceptions. They develop analytical thinking, learn how to freely express themselves through their artistic work, how to formulate conceptions on the level of word, how to defend their conceptions, and how to consistently realize them. |

form of classes |
To get credit the students will have to prepare a presentation of their works, as well as a spoken explanation, and be actively engaged in the classes. What is taken into account is not only the artistic value of their works, but also, within the individualized education system in the Studio, visible progress in perception, registering the reality, development of knowledge of building the field of drawing, awareness of formal choices, determination and consistent work. |
||||||||||
subject area coverage |
Individual for every student: study of a model, space, drawing expressed in other than two-dimensional media; we are open to different forms of developing the drawing experience (object, installation, film, drawing animation). |
